Company Description

LiBa Business GmbH, operating as LIBA Building Technologies, specializes in integrated building and energy systems that connect HVAC, automation, energy management, and smart controls into cohesive solutions. The company focuses on real operating conditions, full integration of technical building systems, and strong energy performance and lifecycle efficiency. Its scalable, future-ready architectures support commercial buildings, industrial facilities, data centers, and smart residential projects where reliability and efficiency are critical. LIBA delivers HVAC systems engineering, building automation and BMS, energy monitoring and optimization, heat recovery and renewable energy integration, and intelligent system architecture. Based in Germany, LiBa Business GmbH designs high-performing systems rather than individual products, creating intelligent building environments for its clients.

Role Description

As an Automation & Controls Engineer at LiBa Business GmbH, you will design, implement, and optimize control systems for integrated building and energy solutions. On a day-to-day basis, you will develop control strategies, program and configure controllers and PLCs, and integrate HVAC and building automation systems into existing and new infrastructures. You will diagnose and troubleshoot control and electrical issues, support commissioning activities, and ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration with project managers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and external partners will be key to delivering reliable, efficient building systems. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Ratingen, with a mix of on-site work and some work from home.

  • Hands-on experience in Troubleshooting automation and controls, including diagnostics, fault finding, and system optimization.
  • Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, including understanding of wiring, schematics, and safety standards.
  • Exposure to Robotics or advanced automation technologies and their integration into building or industrial environments.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Building Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with PLCs, fieldbus and communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), and building management systems is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, develop clear control logic, and document configurations and test procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment with regular on-site presence in Ratingen and some remote work.
  • Proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
