**Role:**IT Operations Engineer (Private 5G & Network Operations)

**Employment type:**Freelance contract

Location: Hamburg, Germany (Hybrid -- On-site presence required when needed)

Contract: 4 months (very high possibility of extension)

We are supporting a leading organisation in Hamburg in their search for an IT Operations Engineer to support and manage critical network operations, with a strong focus on private 5G and WiFi environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on contractor who thrives in operational environments and is comfortable working on complex network infrastructures with high business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage task and incident resolution, including troubleshooting across network environments

  • Produce weekly IT Operations reports and provide clear status updates to stakeholders

  • Create, track, and follow up on Jira tasks

  • Support the configuration and ongoing operations of private 5G networks

  • Take ownership of network change management, including coordination and execution of changes

  • Perform regular network health checks and ensure operational stability

  • Coordinate with internal and external teams (including OBS) to maintain service continuity

  • Act as a customer-oriented point of contact for operational topics

Mandatory Requirements

  • Experience working with and knowledge of private 5G networks (ideally 3-5 years of experience)

  • Experience working withWiFi technologies

  • IT Operations experience (incident, change, and task management)

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes

  • Fluency in English

  • Strong soft skills, including stakeholder communication. Pragmatic mindset and being able to use good judgment are key, with strong coordination skills and the ability to quickly get up to speed within the environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in Airbus or similar complex enterprise environments

  • German language skills

  • Experience in crisis management and handling high-pressure situations
