Purchasing Assistant (m/f/d) -- Medical Devices
Location: Sierksdorf, Germany | Hybrid Working Available (2 Days Home Office)
Mackinnon Bruce International is partnered with an international organisation operating within the Medical Devices sector. We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Purchasing Assistant to support procurement activities across a diverse portfolio of products and suppliers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you will play a key role in ensuring efficient supply chain operations, supplier management, and inventory optimisation within a highly regulated environment.
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for purchasing medical products/components and indirect materials, maintaining supplier relationships, supporting inventory planning, and contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes. You will work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Quality teams to ensure business requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase proprietary medical products and third-party goods to support international distribution activities
- Procure indirect materials and services to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and lead times with suppliers
- Prepare stock forecasts and optimise order quantities to maintain inventory levels
- Manage supplier complaints and support issue resolution activities
- Participate in supplier evaluation and performance monitoring processes
- Process and record goods receipts within the ERP system
- Support the development and improvement of procurement processes and procedures
- Maintain product and supplier master data records
- Communicate effectively with suppliers in both German and English
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Warehouse, Finance, and Quality departments
About You
We are looking for an organised and proactive procurement professional with strong analytical skills and experience working within a fast-paced commercial environment.
Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience within a purchasing or procurement function
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
- Independent, structured, and detail-oriented approach to work
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Experience working with SAP Business One or alternative ERP systems
- Knowledge of process management would be advantageous
- Understanding of import procedures and international supply chains is desirable
