What You Do

• Backend Development: As a Junior Backend Developer (m/f/d) you love the architecture behind the scenes and develop applications in a microservice environment using Java, MongoDB, Spring Boot (click here for our backend stack).
• Feature Integration: Be actively involved in the development of new solutions in our marketing portals: Whether integrating Google Ads or mailing modules - bring existing technical features together with the complex marcapo technology.
• Code ownership: Want to go even deeper? Take over code ownership for your own project, become a professional in your field and actively shape the software.
• Modifications: You analyze and implement optimizations of the marcapo marketing platforms, take care of maintenance and further development.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration: Together with your team, consisting of frontend and backend developers, product owners and product managers, you work closely on your current projects.
• Agile work: In project phases lasting several weeks, you work together with your team on your current project - short Kanban phases take place between projects.

What We Want From You

• Education: As a Junior Backend Software Developer (m/f/d) you have a degree in computer science/business informatics, a completed apprenticeship in the field of application development or professional experience in Java development in the backend area.
• Backend skills: Java, Spring and MongoDB, good knowledge in the development of REST APIs.
• Personal skills: Quality awareness, motivation, communication and teamwork skills, willingness to develop/enjoy growth.
• Language skills: Very good written and spoken German and English (at least B2 in each case).
• Enthusiasm for innovation: You are enthusiastic about current developments in the field of AI and always keep your finger on the pulse. With your flair for new technologies, you maintain an overview of the many possible applications of AI. Ideally, you have already gained practical experience in the application of AI technologies - especially for the optimization and automation of software development processes.
• On-site development: This activity can be carried out (after familiarization) up to 80% from the home office. You have the opportunity to work remotely throughout Germany with two to three team days per month at a marcapo location (Ebern/Bamberg).
