Your responsibilities:

As Head of the Bid Management team, you will be responsible for managing the entire Request for Proposal (RfP) process -- from analysis and proposal creation to presentation development -- in close collaboration with customer service and experts. You will ensure that our proposals stand out through precise analyses and compelling content, such as executive summaries. You will identify innovative solution approaches that maximize customer value, including through cross-departmental collaboration within Marsh and Marsh Risk.

Your tasks will also include:

  • Leading and managing the Bid Team & developing the skills of the Bid Team.
  • Organizing professional rehearsals before proposal submissions and conducting RFP debriefs for continuous optimization and documentation of findings.
  • Actively exchanging ideas with international bid teams and other stakeholders to promote best practices.
  • Independently managing projects and developing individual sales strategies.
  • Close collaboration with all German locations, industry teams, specialists, and the entire Marsh organization.

What makes you stand out:

  • Completed university degree or a completed commercial apprenticeship.
  • Several years of demonstrable experience in leading and coordinating complex RfP and tender processes, ideally in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Ability to understand and critically question customer strategies and translate them into compelling proposal strategies that create sustainable added value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English to prepare complex content clearly, precisely, and in a target-group-oriented manner -- especially for executive summaries and presentations.
  • Experience in independently managing projects of various sizes and complexities, including time and resource planning.
  • Experience working in a matrix structure and demonstrable leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate RfP requirements, identify opportunities and risks, and develop precisely tailored solution approaches.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to consolidate information and achieve optimal results.
  • Resilience and flexibility to deliver high-quality results under pressure in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
