Responsibilities

Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) introduces itself:

The MP division is responsible for an annual purchasing volume in the double-digit billions and ensures the quality of the corresponding components. In partnership with around 1,500 suppliers, both domestic and international, the necessary materials are provided for the global production plants of Mercedes-Benz Cars/Vans. Locations in Germany, Hungary, South Africa, China, India, Mexico, and Argentina ensure proximity to production. New challenges exist particularly in the areas of autonomous driving, connectivity, and alternative powertrains.

The MP/X Center introduces itself:

MP/X is responsible for the module procurement of exterior parts, for the project management of van model series, and for the purchasing quality of exterior parts. In module procurement, we conduct benchmark analyses of the supplier market as part of tenders, conduct contract negotiations, and are responsible for global supplier selection and thus for the development of global sourcing strategies.

These challenges await you, among others:

  • Participation in purchasing within the supplier management process
  • Involvement in purchasing preparations for negotiations with suppliers
  • Shaping cross-functional collaboration with development, cost planning, quality assurance, logistics, controlling, and production plants
  • Involvement in shaping the material group and supplier strategies of the purchasing team
  • Participation in demanding projects
  • Development and creation of methods, procedures, and standards
  • Creation of inquiry documents, bid compilations, and decision documents for new awards, as well as the development and comparison of different business cases based on projected quantities
  • Organization of workshops and preparation and follow-up of negotiations

Hybrid work with partial home office and partial on-site work is possible. The activity can begin in April 2026.

Qualifications

  • Studies in business administration or technical fields, or a comparable course of study
  • Confident German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Confident use of MS Office
  • Commitment and teamwork skills
  • Analytical mindset and strategic working style
  • Communication skills and assertiveness
