We are seeking an experienced System Engineer with deep expertise in cloud migration and infrastructure management to join our growing IT team. This role is pivotal in assessing on-premises environments, crafting migration plans, and execution of cloud transitions to Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for working within cross-functional teams, optimizing workloads, and ensuring secure, high-performance environments in the cloud. That's what it's about
- Execute cloud migration projects using Azure Migrate and related tools, including rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring strategies.
- Assess on-premises infrastructure to determine cloud readiness and develop tailored migration roadmaps.
- Deploy and manage Azure networking components including VNets, NSGs, Application Gateways, and enterprise-scale landing zones.
- Migrate virtual machines, databases, and file shares with minimal downtime, ensuring issue resolution during replication, configuration, and post-migration phases.
- Optimize workloads for cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and auto-scaling.
- Create and maintain comprehensive migration playbooks, runbooks, and progress reporting for stakeholders.
- Stay current with Azure platform updates and recommend innovative tools or process improvements.
- Provide post-migration technical support, ensuring environments remain secure, resilient, and compliant with best practices.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders of all levels.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and maintain a detail-oriented mindset.
This is you
- You have 3 years of experience in system engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.
- You have proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, especially in cloud migration projects.
- You have strong expertise in on-premises technologies such as VMware vCenter, Hyper-V, Windows & Linux administration, and Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GPO, DC).
- You have solid experience with Azure services including VMs, Update Manager, SQL Servers, NSGs, vNETs, Application Gateways, ExpressRoute, VPNs, Storage Accounts, and Azure Monitor.
- You are familiar with VMware HCX and tools like Azure Migrate.
- You have experience with cloud governance and security using Defender 365, Entra ID, and Firewall configurations.
- You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- You are fluent in English, both spoken and written (German is a plus).
