Interim Head of Sales -- Europe (MHE & OHE)

12-Month Contract

Build the European arm of a global business from the ground up.

We are partnering with a globally recognised technology manufacturer specialising in advanced power electronics, batteries, energy storage, and electrification solutions. Their products sit at the heart of OEM equipment used in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Off-Highway Equipment (OHE) operations worldwide.

As part of an ambitious European growth strategy, we are looking for an experienced commercial leader to take a 12-month interim assignment as Head of Sales -- Europe, leading the establishment and build-out of their European commercial operation. This is a rare opportunity for a senior commercial operator to step in as the regional lead, define the go-to-market approach, and stand up an operation that becomes the long-term hub of European growth for a global business.

The Role

Reporting to the Global Director of Sales, you will own European market development end-to-end acting as the regional commercial lead, building the company's footprint, securing strategic OEM partnerships, and laying the operational foundations for sustained growth across MHE and OHE.

This is a hands-on, senior commercial position. You will combine technical fluency with the credibility to engage at senior OEM level, and the appetite to operate without an established support structure around you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Standing up and leading the European commercial operation, defining the regional go-to-market strategy.
  • Identifying, engaging and securing new OEM partnerships across the MHE and OHE markets.
  • Owning the full sales cycle, prospecting, qualification, technical solutioning, negotiation and close.
  • Building and maintaining a high-quality pipeline with full visibility and accuracy in CRM (HubSpot or similar).
  • Acting as the senior commercial face of the business across Europe, trade shows, customer engagements and strategic accounts.
  • Partnering with engineering, product and marketing teams to deliver tailored OEM solutions.
  • Providing pipeline visibility, market insight and strategic input back to global leadership.
  • Travelling internationally as required to support customers and the wider business.

What You'll Bring

This is a highly specialist brief. To be successful, you will need both deep industry experience in power electronics, batteries, energy storage or electrification technology and a proven track record selling into the MHE and OHE markets. Candidates without both will not be considered the timeline of this contract does not allow for ramp-up on either the technology or the vertical.

Requirements:

  • Industry experience demonstrable, hands-on commercial experience selling power electronics, batteries, energy storage, power conversion or electrification technology. You understand the products, the engineering language, and how OEMs evaluate them.
  • Vertical experience, a proven track record of selling into Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Off-Highway Equipment (OHE) OEMs, with an established European network across these markets you can activate from day one.
  • Also essential:
    • 5 years of technical / industrial sales experience, ideally in a regional or international remit.
    • Track record of building markets, opening new accounts and exceeding revenue targets.
    • Comfort operating as the senior in-region commercial figure , strategic when needed, hands-on by default.
    • Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills at senior OEM level.
    • Fluency in English; German and/or Dutch highly advantageous.
    • Based in the Netherlands or Germany, with the right to work.
    • Willingness to travel internationally without restriction.

Contract Details

  • 12-month initial contract, with strong potential for extension as the European operation scales.
  • Fully remote candidate based in the Netherlands or Germany.
  • Attractive, market-leading day rate reflecting the seniority and strategic nature of the mandate.
  • Regular travel across Europe and periodic international travel.
