About NovaSights

At NovaSights, we cut through the noise to deliver the expert insights and factual intelligence that leaders rely on for their most critical business decisions. We provide strategic advisory, regulatory intelligence, and geopolitical analysis to multinational corporations, industry associations, and institutional investors navigating complex political, trade, and policy landscapes across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Our mission is to empower clients to seize the global advantage in an increasingly interconnected and volatile world.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Policy Adviser to strengthen our growing Germany and EU practice. In this senior position, you will serve as a trusted strategic partner to our clients, delivering high-impact policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, regulatory forecasting, and government affairs strategies --- with a particular emphasis on the German political and regulatory ecosystem and its influence within the European Union.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, analyse and interpret German federal and state-level policy developments, EU legislative processes, and their implications for clients across key sectors (e.g. energy transition, digital regulation, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, trade & supply chains)

Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with policymakers, ministerial officials, Bundestag members, party staffers, regulators (e.g. BNetzA, BaFin, BMWK), think tanks, and industry associations in Germany

Produce high-quality, concise intelligence products: policy briefs, scenario analyses, regulatory impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, and executive-level presentations

Lead client advisory projects, including horizon scanning, legislative tracking, political risk assessments, and advocacy strategy development

Collaborate closely with our international team (London, Washington, Singapore, Brussels) to integrate German/EU insights into global client strategies

Contribute to thought leadership through internal research, client workshops, and occasional external publications or speaking engagements

Your Profile

Education & Experience

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or PhD) in political science, law, economics, international relations, European studies, or a related field
  • 8 years of relevant professional experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs, or strategic consulting --- ideally with direct exposure to German federal politics and/or EU institutions

Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of the German political system (Bundestag, Bundesrat, federal ministries, Länder), coalition dynamics, and Berlin policymaking culture
  • Strong knowledge of EU policy-making processes and key dossiers (Green Deal, Digital Services Act, Net-Zero Industry Act, supply-chain due diligence, etc.)
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining high-level stakeholder networks in Berlin and/or Brussels
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills --- able to distil complex policy issues into clear, actionable intelligence for senior executives
  • Business-level German (C1/C2) and fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage
  • Strategic mindset, intellectual curiosity, discretion, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of politics, regulation, and global business strategy
  • Direct access to C-suite clients and high-profile policy discussions
  • Flat hierarchy with significant autonomy and ownership from day one
  • Competitive salary package with performance-based bonus
  • Flexible working arrangements (hybrid model) and professional development support
  • Collaborative, international team culture with colleagues across multiple continents
