Cloud Engineer / Cloud Engineering Consultant (w/m/d)

About the Role

As a Cloud Engineer / Cloud Engineering Consultant, you will work directly with our clients on modern cloud and platform landscapes. You will support the setup, automation, and operation of scalable cloud environments while actively contributing to the further development of our Cloud Engineering Platform. You are comfortable navigating between architecture, implementation, and operations, working closely with client teams and our internal platform and engineering units. Your focus is on reproducible, secure, and automated cloud solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Setup, further development, and operation of cloud and hybrid cloud platforms for clients
• Participation in the design and continuous improvement of our Cloud Engineering Platform
• Implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code approaches (e.g., Terraform / OpenTofu) and Git-based operating models
• Automation of cloud resources, deployments, and operating processes (CI/CD, GitOps)
• Support with migrations and transformations of existing IT workloads into cloud environments
• Technical analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing cloud setups
• Microservices with best practice approaches for creating cloud-native applications

Requirements:

• Completed vocational training in the IT field with relevant professional experience, or a successfully completed degree in computer science or an equivalent international qualification or comparable qualification
• Practical experience with at least one hyperscaler (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform / OpenTofu
• Basic understanding of modern cloud operating models (GitOps, CI/CD, platform approaches)
• Interest in standardized, reusable, and auditable cloud solutions
• High level of comprehension and analytical thinking
• Teamwork skills and the ability for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Independent work, initiative, and willingness to learn
• Good German and English language skills

Remote Working, Coworking Space, or the Office?

Our collaboration with clients is predominantly remote, and personal meetings only take place when necessary, for example, in coworking spaces or hotels.
