Optify Search are currently partnered with a high-growth, well-funded biotechnology company, who are looking to hire a Key Account Manager to support the continued commercialisation of their advanced enzymatic platform within the specialty ingredients market across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Drive commercial growth across key strategic accounts within the ingredient manufacturing and distribution landscape, developing long-term partnerships and expanding market penetration
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across ingredient producers and distributors, positioning the business as a trusted partner in innovation and process development
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through consultative engagement around biotechnology applications, process optimisation, and sustainability-driven solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including R&D, Product Development, and Commercial functions to deliver successful customer projects and aligned account strategies
  • Support customers on technical discussions related to enzyme applications, fermentation processes, and ingredient integration
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and technical forums to strengthen market presence and network development
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning to support long-term commercial growth

Qualifications

  • Scientific Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or key account management within specialty ingredients, enzymes, biotechnology, or specialty chemicals
  • Technical & Commercial Expertise: Strong understanding of bioprocessing, ingredient functionality, or applied chemistry, with the ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value
  • Network: Established relationships within ingredient manufacturers and/or distributors (B2B) is highly desirable

  • Comfortable operating in a cross-functional, international environment
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented
  • Fluent in German and English
