About the Role:
We are looking for a Software Security Engineer to join the team at the headquarters in Karlsruhe. In this role, you will work on protecting software products against reverse engineering and unauthorized access, develop new security strategies, and continuously improve the effectiveness of protection technologies across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Protect software products by securing applications against reverse engineering, analysis, and extraction
- Research and design modern protection technologies to defend against current and emerging attack methods
- Identify and resolve vulnerabilities in protected applications and implement continuous improvements
- Implement security and protection technologies for multiple programming languages and platforms
- Develop automated test scenarios to ensure the functionality and effectiveness of protection mechanisms
Profile:
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or a motivated early career professional with strong technical knowledge
- Strong interest in software security, with experience in CTF competitions or personal security projects considered a plus
- Proficient in C++ and experience with C#, Java, or Python
- Familiar with reverse engineering of compiled code and bytecode artifacts, using tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, BinaryNinja, or dnSpy
- Strong technical curiosity and deep knowledge of topics such as obfuscation, decompilation, LLVM, .NET Runtime, Mono, JVM, or Unity Framework
- Passion for software protection and platform internals, including compiler-based transformations
- Experience with LLVM IR is a plus
- Fluent in German (C1) and English, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a motivated team
