Junior Business Analyst (m/f/d) -- Requirements Engineering

Project Overview

Our client is looking for a Junior Business Analyst (m/f/d) to support the management and implementation of business demands across multiple departments. The role focuses on applying structured Requirements Engineering methodologies to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for IT and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the interface between business stakeholders and IT teams.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements using established Requirements Engineering methods.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
  • Challenge, refine, and clarify requirements to ensure completeness and feasibility.
  • Translate business requirements into well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support the management and prioritization of incoming business demands from various departments.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Initial professional experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or in a comparable role (junior candidates are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of Requirements Engineering methodologies and Business Analysis best practices.
  • Good understanding of Agile ways of working, including user story creation and backlog refinement.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking with the ability to decompose complex requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and drive topics forward.
  • Fluent German and good English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic background in Business Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with common requirements management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • An IREB certification is not required, but a solid understanding of Requirements Engineering principles and methodologies is essential.
