The Role: Senior Data Analyst - Product

This position is crucial for achieving our mission. At Pennylane, data drives every decision. The data team ensures data is treated as a production asset, made available company-wide, and used proactively to enhance user experience. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in large projects, applying business sense and analytical thinking to meet high delivery standards.

Your Contribution:

  • Join the Science & Analytics team (5+ people) within the Data department (40+ people), focusing on Product topics.
  • Proactively use data to identify opportunities for product growth and improvements in user experience and delivery processes.
  • Act as a sparring partner for Product leaders, anticipating key questions and providing answers with your analytical and statistical skills.
  • Steer decision-making in your Product area through rigorous analyses, navigating ambiguity and collaborating across domains.
  • Contribute to our self-service analytics approach by understanding Product partners' needs and promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Contribute directly to data models in the data warehouse (using dbt) for Product teams.
  • Help shape the Data Engineering roadmap to optimize the data platform experience for colleagues.

Your Journey at Pennylane

Within one month:

  • Complete onboarding, learn about the company, teams, and vision.
  • Familiarize yourself with our tech stack and deliver small initial projects.
  • Meet stakeholders and gain deep knowledge of your supported Product area.

Within 3 months:

  • Fully support a Product area, prioritizing topics with decision-makers.
  • Become comfortable with our tech stack (Python, Redshift, DBT).
  • Contribute to larger cross-company projects.

Within 6 months:

  • Proactively contribute to the team's roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineers and data practitioners to improve our stack and data platform.
  • Share learnings and best practices within the team.

Long-term growth:

  • Opportunities to recruit and mentor new team members.
  • Increased accountability in project leadership.
  • Design and implement new processes, tools, and best practices for team efficiency.

Who We're Looking For

  • 5-6 years of experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in scale-up environments.
  • Proficiency with SQL, DBT, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and engineering partners.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to be a trusted partner to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.

  2. Case study interview (60 min).
  3. Past project interview (60 min).
  4. Interview with Tech & Product leaders (45 min).
