Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 support for clients regarding Intune and Exchange-related issues
- Maintain Intune policies and devices in line with evolving technologies
- Manage and oversee both on-premises and online Exchange environments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement appropriate solutions
- Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in Exchange and Intune
- Will be the technical SPOC interacting with the client and also with L1/5 teams and COE teams
- Will be the first escalation level for resolving operational incidents. On-Call support is required on a rotation plan.

- Is able to give guidance to internal and external team members
- Acting as functional and technical lead in his/her area of competence
- Functional management of team members in his/her area of competence
- Is able to define Standard Operation Procedures in alignment with the client to improve operational stability
Skill Requirements
Core Responsibilities
1. Exchange On-Premises Administration
- Manage and maintain Exchange Server 2016/2019 architecture
- Administer Database Availability Groups (DAGs), lagged copies, quorum, and site resiliency
- Execute database mount/dismount, reseeding, failover/failback operations
- Maintain Client Access services (Autodiscover, EWS, MAPI/HTTP, OWA/ECP)
- Manage certificates (SAN certificates, SMTP/TLS certificates, Auth certificates)
- Monitor and troubleshoot transport pipeline, queues, agents, and protocol logs
2. Exchange Online (EXO) Administration
- Manage mailboxes, shared mailboxes, groups, resource mailboxes, aliasing
- Configure and troubleshoot transport rules, mail flow connectors, journaling, and anti-spam/anti-phish policies
- Operate Purview features (retention labels, DLP policies, holds, and compliance)
- Administer Defender for O365 (Safe Links, Safe Attachments)
- Implement mailbox governance, auditing, eDiscovery Standard/Advanced workflows
3. Hybrid Environment Support
- Deploy and maintain Hybrid Configuration (HCW) for coexistence
- Manage MRS Proxy, migration endpoints, OAuth, and FreeBusy federation
- Troubleshoot cross-premises mail flow, headers, hybrid auth, and sync issues
- Maintain namespace, certificate, DNS, and connector alignment across environments
4. Mail Flow Security
- Manage inbound/outbound connectors, smart hosting, MX records, and routing logic
- Implement and troubleshoot SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Maintain TLS standards and secure mail transport to partners
- Troubleshoot NDRs, 4xx/5xx, throttling, delivery issues, and queue congestion
- Monitor anti-spam rules, spoofing incidents, and transport agent behaviors
5. Identity & Authentication
- Operate Entra ID Connect (AAD Connect or Cloud Sync)
- Understand Conditional Access, MFA, OAuth scopes, and Modern Authentication
- Troubleshoot directory sync issues (softmatch, hardmatch, proxyAddress conflicts)
6. Client Connectivity & User Experience
- Support Outlook, Win/Mac Outlook, Mobile, and ActiveSync clients
- Troubleshoot MAPI/HTTP, autodiscover loops, profile corruption, and latency issues
- Resolve shared mailbox performance, delegate access issues, calendar inconsistencies
7. Migrations & Transformation
- Perform cutover, staged, and hybrid migrations using MRS batches/endpoints
- Migrate public folders, legacy to modern archives, PST ingestion, and mail routing changes
- Decommission legacy systems (Exchange 2010/2013) and prepare modernization paths
8. Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Act as Tier 3/4 SME for major incidents and critical escalations
- Use protocol logging, message tracking, ExRCA, MFCMAPI, and network tracing
- Perform RCAs for outages, client failures, data inconsistencies, and performance issues
9. Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for provisioning, reporting, and configuration
- Automate migration tasks, mailbox lifecycle, and compliance reporting
- Generate mailbox usage, transport logs, and security policy audit reports
10. Documentation & Governance
- Create runbooks, SOPs, DR plans, and hybrid reference architectures
- Maintain change records, rollback plans, and design/operational documentation
- Ensure compliance with security baselines, audit requirements, and best practices
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Exchange On-prem, and Online
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certifications
- Language requirements: German (at least B2, better C1), English (at least B2, better C1)
