About the Role

As Team Lead Accountant (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for leading and developing a team of 6 accountants while ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting for a fast-growing SaaS business. You will act as a key interface between accounting, finance leadership, and external stakeholders, combining hands-on expertise with people leadership.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys ownership, thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment, and wants to play a central role in scaling accounting processes within a technology-driven company.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6 accountants
• Ensure clear task allocation, prioritisation, and continuous professional development
• Act as the main escalation point for complex accounting topics

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Full responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Preparation and review of financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all accounting records
• Handle complex accounting matters, including accruals, provisions, and revenue recognition

Systems & Process Excellence

• Ownership and optimisation of accounting processes within NetSuite
• Drive standardisation, automation, and scalability of accounting workflows
• Collaborate with FP&A and other finance functions to ensure data consistency and transparency

Compliance & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal accounting policies
• Act as main contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants
• Support audits and ensure smooth year-end processes
• Contribute to internal controls and governance frameworks

Your Profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment
• Strong hands-on knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS
• Proven experience leading or supervising accounting teams
• Strong practical experience with NetSuite
• Solid understanding of SaaS business models and revenue recognition
• Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable working style
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Business-fluent German and English
