Lead Accountant

📍 Berlin | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Salary: up to 100k

We are working with a growing SaaS Business in Berlin that is looking to appoint a Lead Accountant to strengthen its finance function and support continued growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations, team leadership, and ensuring high-quality financial reporting.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the local accounting team, acting as the main point of contact for accounting topics
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with German GAAP (HGB) and support group reporting requirements
• Own and further develop accounting processes and internal controls
• Act as the key contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement within accounting systems and workflows
• Take ownership of NetSuite as the core accounting system and support system optimisation

Your Profile

• Proven experience in an accounting leadership or senior accounting role
• Strong hands-on accounting background within a software or technology-driven business
• NetSuite experience is essential
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus
• Prior experience in a scale-up, PE-backed, or fast-growing environment is highly desirable
• Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken)
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
