Role Overview
The Retail Media Manager is responsible for driving the growth and success of the retail media business in the German market. This role focuses on developing strategic advertising partnerships, leading media strategy, negotiating commercial agreements, and delivering high-performing, data-driven campaigns for FMCG brands and advertising partners.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of Commercial Growth Germany
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and grow strategic partnerships with FMCG brands and key advertising clients
- Drive increased retail media investment through strong commercial and strategic engagement
- Own and actively expand the in-store and digital screen network across Germany
- Develop data-driven media strategies and annual plans aligned with partner objectives and measurable business outcomes
- Increase revenue through upselling and identification of new opportunities within the retail media portfolio
- Act as an ambassador for retail media solutions, clearly communicating audience value, performance insights, and full-funnel marketing opportunities
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, contracts, and partnership terms
- Design, manage, and execute innovative, brand-safe, and audience-relevant campaign concepts
- Collaborate closely with campaign management and analytics teams to ensure smooth execution and continuous optimization
- Analyse campaign performance, KPIs, ROI, and insights to scale successful initiatives and identify optimization opportunities
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in enterprise or global-level partnership management
- Deep understanding of retail media products, digital advertising solutions, and partnership agreements
- 5--8 years of relevant professional experience in retail media, digital advertising, partnerships, or commercial roles
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or a related field
- Master's degree in Digital Marketing, Strategy, or Commercial Management is an advantage
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with experience developing and executing complex partnership strategies
- Strong negotiation skills, including management of complex commercial agreements
- Solid financial acumen with the ability to evaluate profitability, ROI, and performance metrics
- Strong analytical capabilities and confidence working with KPIs and data-driven insights
