Job Description

Our Cheese purchasing department not only procures hard and soft cheeses. The colleagues also deal with sustainability topics and are significantly involved in the development of innovative products. We are therefore looking for fresh minds for the private label purchasing department of REWE Group Buying GmbH. Ensure that only the best products end up in our customers' shopping carts, making them completely satisfied.

Your Tasks

• You demonstrate commitment in purchasing: at supplier, procurement, and quality levels. You will support the Senior Buyer in all purchasing activities.
• You independently conduct tenders and supplier negotiations.
• Your analytical skills are put to good use: Through market observation and analysis of the competition regarding assortment and market prices, including trend scouting to identify product innovations.
• You are responsible for the development and implementation of measures for assortment and price optimization.
• You keep an eye on everything: Together with the team's assistants, you ensure the careful and complete maintenance of all data (master data, conditions, sales-relevant data) and the availability of goods.
• You are a competent contact person: You ensure comprehensive and regular coordination with internal and external interfaces.
• You let your creativity run wild: When you contribute to the development of new product assortments.

Your Profile

• First and foremost, your personality: Your self-reliant, goal-oriented, structured, and sustainability-focused way of working. Your affinity for numbers and strong analytical skills. Your team spirit and creativity combined with your communication and assertiveness. Making independent decisions comes easily to you, and you see your future in conducting negotiations.
• You have successfully completed a degree in business administration or a similar field.
• Your several years of professional experience in purchasing/category management, preferably in the retail or industrial sector.
• Your very good MS Office skills - especially Excel - as well as good knowledge of inventory management systems.
• You are proficient in German and English to communicate with our national and international suppliers and colleagues.
