Senior HR Business Partner | People & Transformation

A well-established, multinational business with operations across Europe is hiring a senior HR business partner. Partnering with senior leaders across two local locations, the successful candidate will drive the people agenda across organisational design, change, talent and leadership capability - collaborating closely with HR counterparts across Europe to bring consistency and momentum to a people function that is actively evolving to match the business's ambition.

What's on offer

Base salary €90,000--€110,000 with a performance bonus on top. Car allowance, pension with employer contribution, and a salary conversion pension option. Private accident insurance, home office setup support for new starters, corporate discount programme, generous annual leave entitlement, external training support, and an on-site gym.

How you'll work

Two days onsite per week, to be based in either Cologne or Frankfurt area, and 3 remote days per week. The role will involve travel to the European headquarters, every couple of months (this is a short haul flight and may include an over-night stay).

The role

The successful candidate will partner with senior leaders, work closely with HR counterparts across Europe, and take ownership of the people agenda across a workforce spanning two locations. The business partnering model is still being embedded and this person will need to drive it.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with senior leaders on organisational design, talent, performance and all significant people matters
  • Lead organisational design initiatives end to end - from analysis and planning through to implementation and embedding
  • Develop people plans that are compliant with relevant employment legislation across both jurisdictions
  • Support leaders through change and transformation - new operating models, structural shifts and cultural change
  • Drive talent development, succession planning and performance management across the organisation
  • Coach the HR team to shift from a transactional to a strategic business partnering approach --- role-modelling what good looks like
  • Build leadership capability through direct coaching, advice and challenge at senior level
  • Manage the relationship with the works council (Betriebsrat) constructively and in line with co-determination requirements
  • Use people data and analytics to surface issues early and inform business decisions
  • Collaborate with the wider group HR community on talent, reward, learning and inclusion

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Significant senior HRBP experience gained in an international, matrixed organisation
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisational design projects from start to finish
  • Strong working knowledge of German employment law
  • A track record in change leadership and business transformation
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at senior level
  • Comfortable working independently, making sound judgements with limited direction and standing firm when needed
  • Fluent German and English - both required
  • Degree-qualified in HR, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related field

Desirable

  • Experience working with works councils (Betriebsrat)
  • Experience in a dual-jurisdiction HR environment
  • Project management skills
