Bestsecret's finance organization is growing and evolving in a fast-paced international environment. To strengthen our General Ledger team, we are looking for a hands-on Senior General Ledger Accountant who enjoys working close to the numbers, taking ownership, and helping improve processes in a complex multi-entity setup.
This is a pure General Ledger role. You will take ownership of specific entities and support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in line with HGB and IFRS, while contributing to the stabilization and further development of bestsecret's accounting processes.
One of the key advantages of this role is the high level of flexibility: 100% remote work within Germany is possible.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS
- Take ownership of General Ledger accounting for selected entities within an international group structure
- Process and monitor ongoing business transactions, including postings, reconciliations, and account analyses
- Support the handling of intercompany topics and cooperate with international group entities
- Act as a contact person for auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
- Prepare recurring reports, including AWV and statistical reports
- Contribute actively to the optimization and further development of SAP FICO processes in General Ledger Accounting
- Identify inefficiencies and support process improvements, clean-up topics, and digitization initiatives
- Take part in finance-related projects and special topics in a changing and growing environment
Requirements
- Several years of solid hands-on General Ledger experience, ideally 5+ years
- Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS
- Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ideally within e-commerce, retail, scale-up, or similarly agile international businesses
- Confidence working in a complex multi-entity environment
- Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and finding pragmatic solutions when processes are not yet fully standardized
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- SAP FICO experience is a plus, but not essential
- Additional accounting qualification such as Bilanzbuchhalter is welcome, but not required
- Very good German and good English skills
