Freelance Position -- Cinema Project Coordinator for Arkino by Salaud Morisset

Location: Berlin (hybrid: on-site & remote)

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 3 months (approx. 30h/week), from April 2026, with possible extension

Rate: €25/hour

About the project

We are looking for a highly organized and passionate individual to join Arkino, a new initiative developed by Salaud Morisset.

Arkino is building the first structured marketplace connecting cinemas worldwide with rights holders, with the ambition to unlock the circulation of classic and heritage films across borders.

This is an opportunity to be part of an early-stage, high-impact project at the intersection of cinema, technology, and international collaboration.

Your role

You will support the development and day-to-day operations of Arkino, working closely with the founding team.

Your role sits at the core of the project: connecting cinemas with the right films, and structuring the information that makes this possible at scale.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and source the relevant rights holders for films requested by cinemas worldwide
  • Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of industry partners (from studios to independent distributors and sales agents)
  • Structure and maintain accurate film-related data (rights, materials, contacts)
  • Coordinate with international partners (cinemas, distributors, rights holders)
  • Support outreach and communication efforts across different markets
  • Ensure smooth and reliable operational workflows across territories
  • Contribute to building a scalable and efficient system for global film circulation

Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Deeply passionate about cinema, especially classic and auteur films
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and methodical
  • Comfortable working across cultures and communicating internationally
  • Reliable, proactive, and solution-driven
  • Based in Berlin (or able to work partially on-site)

Prior experience in film, distribution, festivals, or cultural institutions is a strong plus but mindset and rigor matter most.

Fluent in French and English is required; any additional language is a plus.

Why join us

  • Work on a meaningful project aiming to reshape how cinema circulates globally
  • Gain hands-on experience in international film distribution and operations
  • Be part of a small, sharp, and ambitious team
  • Flexible working structure (hybrid)
