Job Description

Schmitt Engineering is a medium-sized company and a reliable partner for the industry, delivering comprehensive technical expertise. Our activities span the entire process chain, from planning and project management to development, design, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.

Your Responsibilities

• Conducting and evaluating workflow and time studies using work-science methods (e.g., classifying work elements, repeatedly measuring times, assessing performance levels)
• Determining target/standard times, including allowances for distributed work time
• Modifying work plans or initiating changes with the responsible process planner
• Performing distributed time recordings and identifying causes of disruption
• Determining standard times and establishing/maintaining standard time catalogs
• Discussing results and initiating improvement measures, considering collective bargaining and company agreements
• Planning work sequences, operations, and equipment for assembly/parts manufacturing with interdependent processing steps
• Defining planned production programs for necessary production capacities and presenting alternatives
• Determining labor requirements and calculating pro-rata production costs
• Developing proposals for production-friendly design of components/assemblies, potentially suggesting design changes (dimensions, tolerances, materials, etc.) and changes to manufacturing processes
• Developing measures for future error prevention (in collaboration with other departments if necessary) and integrating them into the process
• Conducting value stream mapping and layout planning, as well as value stream analyses and designs
• Planning and implementing floor layouts in production and administration, considering process flows, material and information flows, ergonomics, occupational safety, etc.

Your Profile

• Completed apprenticeship in a technical field or equivalent qualification
• REFA certification is a prerequisite
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
• Knowledge of ORTIM is desirable
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken

Note: German is the working language in our project, and good German language skills (level B2) are a prerequisite for the position.
