About Us

We are transforming the insurance world -- and looking for you to help shape the future. As one of Germany's largest insurers and financial service providers, headquartered in Hamburg and Dortmund, we have fundamentally transformed ourselves in recent years. Our modern and agile working environment, where we work with a focus on user needs, is characterized by openness and courage. We place great importance on mutual appreciation and trust. We welcome diversity in all its facets and believe that different perspectives and experiences are crucial for innovation. Become part of our team, contribute your ideas, and change the present with us.

Are you ready to take existing input management to the next level?

You will design future-oriented IT architectures, relying on Java and microservices to develop robust and clean code. Your passion doesn't end with coding -- you want to not only develop your software in the cloud but also be responsible for its entire lifecycle as a DevOps enthusiast? Then you're in the right place!

As part of an agile squad, you are more than just a developer: you are an architect of a better service experience through faster processing of customer inquiries. If you want to bring your passion for cloud technologies and clean code to a strategically important project, you are exactly right here.

Your Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Development: You will design and build a scalable, future-proof architecture for input management, utilizing Google Cloud technologies.
  • Intelligent Automation: You will develop and/or optimize the logic for best recognizing customer inquiries, enabling fully automated processing.
  • AI & Innovation: You will integrate Software as a Service (SaaS), such as DocAI, into an existing input management system and train the LLM.
  • Seamless Integration: You will design and implement robust connectors into an insurance-specific enterprise architecture to integrate input management into core systems.
  • Quality & DevOps: You live DevOps. From implementation through automated tests (JUnit, Jest, Cypress) to the CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins, you ensure quality and drive automation. The daily operation of this solution is also a matter of course for you.
  • Ownership: You will take on technical product responsibility, improve code structure through refactoring, and ensure first-class monitoring with tools like Splunk and Grafana.

Your Profile

  • You have a degree, an apprenticeship in IT, or equivalent qualifications acquired through practical experience.
  • You have initial experience in configuring and operating cloud environments, ideally on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • You are proficient in programming (Java, Spring, optionally Angular and Python) and in building microservices using REST APIs.
  • You have practical experience with technologies such as Google Cloud Functions, Terraform, Jenkins, test frameworks (JUnit, Jest, Cypress), Splunk, Grafana, and Gitlab (or are open to them).
  • You consider clean code a given, practice agile working, bring genuine team spirit, and are motivated to learn new architectures and technologies.

What We Offer

  • You benefit from a collective agreement with a 38-hour week.
  • You benefit from flexible working hours and can work from home or remotely at least 2 days a week.
  • You can spend 30 days a year in the sun or hiking through the mountains.
  • You can reduce your ecological footprint, e.g., through e-bike leasing.
  • You receive discounted insurance offers and benefits via the online platform Corporate Benefits.
  • You can help shape changes every day #changeitnow.
