The Role

The Product Development Scientist will be responsible for transferring new formulations from development into pilot scale and successfully scaling them up to production, ensuring a first time-right approach to scalability. Working closely with the theoretical formulation team and the production department, this role plays a critical part in supporting the growth of our softgel business in Germany. This position is based in Pritzwalk, Germany, where our production site is located.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting laboratory experiments and coordinating, running, and assessing pilot-scale trials for transfer to production
• Optimization of existing formulations to improve process capability
• Creation of manufacturing instructions for new products and maintenance of existing instructions within the current portfolio
• Supporting the customer offer process through theoretical product development
• Creation, editing, adaptation, and approval of batch-related documents
• Planning, organization, execution, and documentation of development projects through production readiness
• Review and evaluation of supplier specifications for raw materials

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in pharmacy, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, Food Management, or a related discipline, with experience in the pharmaceutical and food industries
• Strong problem-solving mindset and motivation to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement
• Experience in soft gelatin capsule production is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office applications as well as ERP and CRM systems
• Highly precise, conscientious, and systematic approach to work
• Independent, responsible, and reliable working style
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Confident in presenting technical updates to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Fluency in German and English are required; any other European language is a plus
• Ability to travel when required
