Skailark is seeking a Senior Aviation Finance Manager Data (f/m/d) to help airlines become more sustainable, both economically and environmentally.
The Challenge
The aviation industry generates vast amounts of data, yet it's often unaggregated and underutilized. This leads to financial inefficiencies and unnecessary CO₂ emissions due to decisions based on incomplete information.
Our Solution
Skailark's digital twin of the global aviation market models every seat on every flight, tracking crucial metrics like fuel burn, CO₂ emissions, fleet costs, and maintenance cycles. Our platform empowers airlines to simulate decisions and optimize performance, with trusted clients including American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Transavia, and London Heathrow.
Your Role
You will own our aviation data throughout its lifecycle, ensuring its accuracy, reliability, and value. You'll also oversee the development of our airline finance & cost models, working closely with the Head of Product to enhance our digital twin and generate impactful insights. This role blends hands-on data management and modeling with deep aviation domain expertise.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Data Collection, Quality Management, and Acquisition
- Define and manage daily data processes for aviation financial and non-financial data.
- Supervise the data collection team, ensuring timely and complete data delivery.
- Implement and maintain data validation processes for accuracy and consistency.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new aviation data sources.
2. Aviation Finance & Economic Modelling
- Translate real-world airline economic dynamics into robust model frameworks.
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of these models.
- Validate model outputs against industry benchmarks and real-world data.
- Collaborate with modeling and data colleagues for product integration.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in consulting, financial analysis, or economics.
- Initial experience leading a small team.
- Highly structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Independent, self-driven, and delivery-focused ("getting things done" mindset).
- Ability to translate real-world correlations into insightful model concepts.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting frameworks and financial data models.
- Aviation background is a plus.
- Basic technical skills in Alteryx are a plus.
- Based in Munich or willing to relocate.
- Valid European Union work permit required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (German not required).
