About the Role

As a freelance author (m/f/d), you will use your didactic and subject matter expertise to develop playful exercise sets for our learning game, Sofeheld. This game helps students better understand and independently consolidate their learning content. Children progress through the game by solving exercise sets, each consisting of 6-10 questions (depending on the topic). Your content will make a real contribution to thousands of students in German-speaking countries.

Your Responsibilities:

• Didactic Conception of German Exercises for Grades 7-9 and/or English (3rd-6th Grade) and/or Latin (1st-3rd Year): Development of interactive content, oriented towards existing exercises and didactic standards.
• Creation and Review of Digital Task Formats: Implementation of exercise tasks via a user-friendly online interface with a direct live preview, as well as their review and correction.
• Design of Engaging Exercise Sets: Selection of suitable task layouts, interactive formats, and supporting illustrations that make learning motivating and visually appealing.

What You Bring:

You have high professional and didactic standards and ideally meet the following requirements:

• (Ongoing or completed) teaching degree or subject-specific degree in German and/or English (in combination with Latin knowledge)
• Very good knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Didactic flair and a good understanding of the challenges involved in learning the respective language
• Reliability, independence, and a structured, meticulous way of working
• Regular, dependable communication and teamwork skills
• Technical affinity — ideally, initial experience with CMS or online tools
• At least 10 hours per week available for project work
• Quick start possible (ASAP preferred)

What We Offer:

• Comprehensive Onboarding: You will be carefully trained, including a 2-hour introduction and a 1-hour feedback session after your first topic — compensated with a total of €80.
• Location-Independent Work: Work flexibly from anywhere — you only need a laptop and a stable internet connection.
• Attractive Compensation: For each completed exercise set, you will receive €40-45 (estimated effort: approx. 1.5-2 hours per set). You will reach this compensation after successfully creating approx. 2 topics (one topic = approx. 6-8 sets).
