Senior Category & Perfect Store Manager (m/f/d)
Location: Düsseldorf, Germany (Hybrid)
A global consumer goods organisation is seeking a Senior Category & Perfect Store Manager to lead category growth and retail excellence initiatives across the German market. This strategic leadership role focuses on driving category performance, improving in-store execution, strengthening retailer partnerships, and leading cross-functional initiatives to maximise brand visibility and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category management and Perfect Store strategies aligned with commercial objectives.
- Drive category growth through data-driven insights and customer-focused category development plans.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key retail customers to deliver mutual growth opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve Perfect Store KPIs and lead action plans to optimise in-store execution.
- Develop compelling category growth strategies and shopper insights in collaboration with regional and global teams.
- Lead cross-functional projects to improve retail execution, category performance, and commercial effectiveness.
- Analyse market, shopper, and retail performance data to support strategic decision-making.
- Share best practices and promote collaboration across commercial, sales, marketing, and retail excellence teams.
- Design and deliver training programmes to strengthen category management capabilities across the organisation.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel periodically to engage with customers and support commercial activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in category management, retail excellence, sales, or commercial strategy within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Proven success driving category growth across multiple product categories.
- Strong knowledge of the German retail landscape, particularly drugstore and retail channels.
- Category Management certification (GS1 or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into commercial recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Fluent in German and English.
