Location: Pulverdingen Site & Remote Contract: 4-Month Freelance Contract Company: Spencer Ogden (on behalf of a leading energy infrastructure project)
Spencer Ogden is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Documentation Support Engineer to join a major high-voltage substation project on a 4-month freelance contract basis. This role offers a hybrid setup, combining on-site work in Pulverdingen with remote flexibility.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced contractor to support the delivery of a complex energy infrastructure project, ensuring commissioning documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, coordinate, review, and manage commissioning documentation across all project phases
- Ensure documentation is complete, traceable, and compliant with project specifications, statutory regulations, and client requirements
- Maintain documentation in line with quality, HSE, and internal document control standards
- Carry out quality checks and verification of commissioning documentation, including:
- Test reports and checklists
- Method statements and inspection/test plans
- Punch lists and handover dossiers
- Red-marked drawings and final turnover documentation
- Coordinate documentation across disciplines (electrical, protection & control, SCADA/telecoms, primary plant, and auxiliary systems)
- Support planning and tracking of documentation for commissioning phases including testing, energisation, and handover
- Ensure documentation is delivered in line with project milestones, outage schedules, and deadlines
- Identify and resolve documentation gaps, inconsistencies, and revision issues
- Participate in commissioning and technical meetings, ensuring documentation actions are captured and followed up
- Maintain and update the commissioning documentation register, ensuring version control and traceability
- Support the compilation and delivery of final commissioning dossiers and handover packages
Requirements
- Proven experience in commissioning documentation, document control, or project support within HV substations or power infrastructure
- Strong experience with commissioning documentation for high-voltage substations
- Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Technical Documentation, or similar
- Solid understanding of commissioning processes and documentation workflows in complex projects
- Knowledge of protection & control systems and primary substation equipment is advantageous
- Experience managing test records, checklists, red-marked drawings, and turnover documentation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Fluent German language skills required (project communication is conducted in German)
Contract Details
- 4-month freelance contract
- Hybrid working (Pulverdingen site remote)
- Competitive day rate (dependent on experience)
