About the City of Bochum
The City of Bochum, with approximately 375,000 inhabitants, is one of the economic and cultural centers of the Ruhr area, boasting a variety of demanding scientific, educational, and cultural institutions, as well as numerous facilities for leisure, sports, and recreation. We are seeking a dedicated IT Architect (f/m/d) for the Office of Human Resources Management, Information Technology, and Organization.

Salary: EG 12 TVöD (€54,500 - €85,200 full-time, depending on relevant professional experience) or BesGr. A 13 LBesG (Career Group 2, 1st entry level) (subject to civil service evaluation).
Your Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of IT architecture strategies (Cloud, SaaS, and on-premise) and solutions to advance the digitalization of the city administration, including make-or-buy decisions.
- Design and implementation concepts for IT systems (for IT itself and the administrative departments of the City of Bochum) optimally tailored to the city's requirements.
- Preparation of the City of Bochum's IT for a new, even more fault-tolerant concept for operation, design, and adaptation of applications to this new concept.
- Ensuring the integration of new IT solutions into existing systems, considering IT security and data protection requirements.
Your Qualifications and Skills:
- Successfully completed university or university of applied sciences degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or another IT-related discipline.
- For civil servants: Completed university or university of applied sciences degree (Bachelor / FH) with a focus on Computer Science, Business Informatics, or another IT-related discipline, and possess the qualification for career group 2, 1st entry level of the general administrative service.
- Sound knowledge in IT architecture and experience in developing and implementing complex IT systems.
- Expertise in IT security and IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of project management and experience in managing IT service providers.
- Strong communication skills and a solution-oriented approach.
- ITIL knowledge, Agile project management methods, and Scrum knowledge; relevant certifications are desirable.
