About the Role
The City of Regensburg is seeking a qualified expert (m/w/d) in water management for the Environmental Office, specifically for the department of technical environmental protection. This role involves acting as an official expert in water management.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing final technical expert opinions as an official expert (m/w/d) according to No. 7.4.5.3.1 of the VVWas in building law, railway law, and operational safety law procedures concerning facilities for handling substances hazardous to water, construction water management, and the construction of residential buildings in floodplains and water protection areas, as well as within the 60 m zone. This also includes providing technical opinions in building law and water law procedures and during land-use planning.
- Exercising technical water supervision for all uses permitted under Art. 70 BayWG and for all facilities handling substances hazardous to water.
- Enforcing the Ordinance on Major Accidents (Störfallverordnung) for all facilities handling substances hazardous to water, implementing the IED Directive, and participating in on-site inspections.
- Serving as a liaison between the district administrative authority and the Water Management Office (WWA).
- Advising citizens, companies, administration, and water supply companies on all water management and technical issues.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Completed university studies (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) or Bachelor's degree) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Management, or a comparable field, OR
- You are a civil servant (m/w/d) of the third qualification level in the scientific and technical career path, with a specialization in building and environmental technical administration, focusing on water management.
Additionally, we expect:
- Professional experience in this field is desirable.
- Willingness to conduct field service appointments.
- Independence, initiative, assertiveness, and strong communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
