Your role
We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Frontend Developer to spearhead our frontend initiatives and take full ownership of our user-facing architecture. In this role, you will be the key driver for all frontend topics, guiding their technical direction and ensuring they align with our broader business goals. You will operate with a high degree of independence, acting as a crucial bridge between different departments to negotiate requirements, propose solutions, and make critical architectural decisions.
Your ultimate mission will be to ensure our eCommerce platform delivers a lightning-fast, highly optimized, and seamless experience. You will take full ownership of the frontend codebase within our Magento ecosystem, heavily utilizing the Hyvä theme. You are someone who thrives at the intersection of complex logic (state management, performance optimization) and pixel-perfect UI implementation, establishing a strong internal engineering culture for our frontend development.
Key responsibilities:
- Frontend Ownership & Leadership: Lead frontend topics, guide technical discussions, and take full responsibility for the implementation and health of the frontend architecture.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a primary decision-maker and technical stakeholder. Negotiate and partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate business requirements into efficient technical specifications.
- Core Development: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using our core stack: Magento, Hyvä, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, Alpine.js and Vue.js.
- Performance Optimization: Champion frontend performance. Take ownership of page load speeds and overall Magento frontend performance, with a specific focus on Lighthouse score optimization.
- UX & Experimentation: Partner with the Marketing department to handle the technical execution of A/B tests (e.g., using Kameleon). Implement performant, seamless test variations collaborating with designers to bring UX/UI improvements to life without compromising page speed.
- Quality & Standards: Set and enforce high-quality coding standards, conduct code reviews, and advocate for best practices in modern JavaScript (including state management and component communication).
- Technical Vision: Drive the evolution of our frontend components, develop and improve our Hyvä theme, take our checkout to the next level.
Your profile
- 5 years of frontend experience with high autonomy, leading technical decisions and negotiating trade-offs.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Magento View layer, XML configuration, and the implementation of Hyvä themes.
- Deep proficiency in Tailwind CSS, Vanilla JS, Alpine.js, and Vue.js with Vuex.
- Proven track record in Lighthouse and page load optimization for complex Magento environments.
- Skilled at challenging UX requirements to ensure technical feasibility and component reusability.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- Professional fluency in English (C1 level), with German or Russian as additional assets.
- Bonus: Experience with React, React Native, and A/B testing platforms like Kameleoon.
