The Koinon team at the Technical University of Munich is looking for four student assistants to support the development of our web-based software platform.
What we are looking for
- Experience in developing web-based software or a strong motivation to learn
- Good spoken English: you should be able to understand others and communicate effectively within an international team
- Availability for up to 20 hours per week
- Interest in working with us for at least one year (possibly more)
- An existing personal licence for a coding agent of your choice, such as Claude Code, Codex or a comparable tool, as coding agents are an essential part of our development workflow
We mainly work with PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap 5, Docker and GitLab. Previous experience with one or more of these technologies is an advantage, but not required.
Studying computer science or a related subject is beneficial, but we also welcome motivated students from other disciplines. Being enrolled at TUM is an advantage, although applications from students at other German universities are also welcome.
German language skills are helpful, but not required.
What we offer
- A fully remote position with flexible working hours
- Practical experience developing software used across TUM
- The opportunity to improve your web development skills and work with modern coding tools
- Compensation according to the applicable public-sector hourly rates for student assistants
- Optional invitations to in-person team and social events, such as MaiTUM or TUNIX
Where qualifications are otherwise equal, preference will be given to women and applicants with disabilities.
Please send your application, including a short introduction and your CV, to koinon@it.tum.de by July 31, 2026.
