Senior Mobile Application Developer / Technical Lead (iOS & Android)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Application Developer / Technical Lead to join our team in Berlin. You will be responsible for the technical design, development, and delivery of mobile applications for iOS and Android, while also leading and coordinating other developers involved in the projects.

The role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and close collaboration with designers and testers. As we operate in the telecommunications sector, experience or a strong interest in telecom-related technologies is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS and Android applications
• Build applications with network connectivity, user authentication, and backend integration
• Integrate internal and external APIs, including:
  • User accounts and authentication services
  • Statistics and analytics platforms
  • License servers
  • Webshop and payment providers
  • Device- and OS-specific phone functions
• Ensure performance, reliability, security, and scalability

Technical Leadership & Team Coordination

• Take ownership of technical execution
• Plan, structure, and distribute development tasks
• Review and evaluate code from other developers
• Ensure efficient workflows and timely delivery
• Apply and enforce development standards

AI-Assisted Development

• Use AI-powered tools to:
  • Accelerate coding and prototyping
  • Support debugging and troubleshooting
  • Improve documentation and code quality
• Apply AI tools responsibly and securely

UI / UX Collaboration

• Work closely with UI/UX designers
• Communicate effectively to integrate designs
• Deliver polished user interfaces and experiences

Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting

• Debug and troubleshoot on physical iOS and Android devices
• Coordinate beta testing activities
• Identify, document, and resolve issues
• Maintain structured testing protocols

Documentation & Best Practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Maintain technical documentation
• Follow best practices in architecture, version control, security, testing, and deployment

Telecommunications Knowledge (Advantageous)

• Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi)
• Telephony Manager and Android telephony APIs
• OMAPI
• eSIM and SIM-related technologies
• SIP
• Mobile core network concepts such as HLR and HSS

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in mobile development for iOS and Android
• Experience with APIs and backend integration
• Experience reviewing and managing other developers' code
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience using AI tools for software development
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Willingness to work on-site in Berlin during onboarding

Nice to Have

• Experience as a technical or team lead
• Telecommunications background
• App Store and Google Play release experience
• CI/CD experience
• Beta testing and release management experience
