About the Role

As a future Professor, your focus will be on conducting lectures and supervising practical courses in the fields of Electronics and High-Frequency Technology. You will be responsible for these disciplines, engaging in teaching, and mentoring students with their Bachelor's and Master's theses.

The THD offers excellent conditions for innovative and application-oriented research. Our Center for Applied Research provides a supportive team for realizing future-oriented projects that bridge science and practice. You will also contribute to the development of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Media Technology through your involvement in academic self-governance.

Your Profile

You should have a completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field. Relevant experience and robust research expertise in one or ideally more of the following areas are required: General Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Circuit Technology, High-Frequency Technology, electronic components, and their production. Prior experience in university teaching is ideal.

Due to the international nature of our campus, lectures must be conducted in both German and English. We are seeking a personality who can represent the professorial field in teaching and applied research through practical relevance.

General Requirements

  • Completed university degree
  • Special aptitude for scientific work, typically demonstrated by a doctorate
  • Pedagogical suitability
  • Demonstrated significant achievements in the application or development of scientific findings and methods through at least five years of professional practice after completing your university studies. At least three of these years must have been outside of academia. In special cases, professional practice outside academia can be demonstrated through substantial cooperation between the university and external professional practice over a minimum of five years.

The standard teaching load for professors at Universities of Applied Sciences is 18 teaching hours per week for full-time positions.

This position is suitable for individuals with severe disabilities. Severely disabled applicants will be given preference if their qualifications, abilities, and professional performance are otherwise essentially equal.

The Deggendorf Institute of Technology aims to increase the proportion of women in its academic staff. Information for Bavaria can be found at www.werdeprofessorin.de.

Individuals may be appointed to the civil service if they have not yet reached the age of 52.

For foreign university degrees, a certificate evaluation from the ZAB (Central Office for Foreign Educational Affairs) must be submitted during the hiring process for final assessment of the eligibility requirements.
