Our client is building the infrastructure for the next generation of the German energy market.
Based in Berlin and backed by leading European investors, they have developed a technology-driven platform that enables smarter energy trading, optimized grid integration, and scalable renewable adoption across Germany.
As volatility, decentralization, and regulatory complexity reshape the energy landscape, they sit at the intersection of technology, regulation, and real-world infrastructure building solutions that directly impact the Energiewende.
They are now entering our next growth phase and are looking for a Project Manager with deep energy market expertise to help them scale execution and deliver high-impact initiatives across operations, technology, and partnerships.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will drive complex, cross-functional projects across our commercial, technical, and regulatory workstreams.
You will:
- Lead strategic projects related to energy market integration, trading operations, or grid partnerships
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (product, engineering, regulatory, commercial)
- Manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication
- Translate energy market requirements (EEG, Redispatch 2.0, balancing markets, PPAs, etc.) into operational execution
- Work closely with leadership on scaling processes and market expansion initiatives
- Identify risks early and proactively steer mitigation strategies
You'll operate close to the decision-making layer and have real ownership over mission-critical initiatives.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who truly understands the German energy market.
- 4+ years of experience in the energy sector (utilities, energy trading, renewable developer, VPP, energy SaaS, etc.)
- Proven project management experience in complex, cross-functional environments
- Strong knowledge of German energy market structures (balancing markets, grid operators, regulatory frameworks, power trading, or renewable integration)
- Ability to translate regulatory and technical requirements into structured execution plans
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in German and English
Nice to have:
- Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
- Familiarity with digital energy platforms, energy trading systems, or flexibility markets
- PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certification
