About us 🚀
At ToolTime, we build cloud-based software for trades people. A platform that digitizes workflows, reduces admin work, and gives craft businesses valuable time back in their day. Since 2019, our mission has been to simplify every step of their operations, from creating offers to tracking time.
Behind this mission stands a diverse team of 80 talented people from various backgrounds and nationalities who work together to modernize the trades' industry in a meaningful and sustainable way.
What sets us apart? The energy of a modern SaaS startup combined with a strong financial foundation. With €55 million in funding and investors deeply connected to the trades sector, we're well positioned to scale our product and impact even further.
ToolTime's DNA is shaped by innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement --- and we're always looking for motivated people who want to push the industry forward with us.
We're now looking for a sharp, driven Founding Associate to work directly alongside our CFO and CEO -- someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and wants to be close to the decisions that shape the company. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
💡 Your responsibilities
- You'll take real ownership of strategic and operational projects -- not just contribute to them, but drive them forward and make them your own.
- You'll collaborate with curious, driven people across departments in a diverse, international environment that's big enough to matter and small enough to move fast.
- Financial Planning & Budgeting: Build and own financial models that support key business decisions -- from evaluating new opportunities to sizing markets and stress-testing assumptions. You translate ambiguity into structured thinking and numbers that hold up under scrutiny.
- Financial Reporting, Data Analysis: Own the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and board reports. Dig into financial data and SaaS KPIs, surface meaningful insights, and turn numbers into a clear story that drives decisions.
- Strategic Projects: Shape the direction of the company by contributing to high-impact initiatives -- from market entry decisions to growth strategies. You'll prepare decision materials, structure the thinking, and connect the dots across teams.
🫵 Your profile
- You bring 1--2 years of hands-on experience -- whether through internships, working student roles, or your first full-time position.
- You're excited to be part of something meaningful -- a company that's grown well beyond startup stage but still moves with purpose and ambition.
- You take ownership end-to-end and don't wait for perfect conditions. You break down complexity, create clarity, and get things done.
- You care about your work -- not just ticking boxes, but doing things well and with attention to detail.
- You're comfortable with presentation tools and know how to build a deck that actually tells a story: clear headlines, sharp structure, visuals that earn their space.
- You're solid in Excel / Google Sheets and build models that are clean, logical, and easy for others to follow.
- You have a solid understanding of financial KPI's and can confidently read a P&L, cash flow statement, and basic balance sheet.
- You are fluent in English -- both written and spoken. German is a plus.
💙 What we offer
- You'll gain insights into one of the most highly funded startups in the trades sector and have the opportunity to support us during an exciting phase of growth.
- A strong company culture built on our values: Curiosity, Positivity, and Best Together.
- We value honest feedback and continuous learning, and we create an environment where everyone has the space to learn from mistakes.
- We invest in you: you'll receive an annual Learning & Development budget of €500 to build new skills or deepen your expertise.
- The opportunity to create your own benefits package from more than 35 partners, including Urban Sports Club, Blinkist, 7Mind, IKEA, and many more.
- Access to our corporate benefits portal with exclusive offers and discounts on travel, sports, fashion, and more.
- 30 days of vacation , regular team and company events -- plus two company weeks per year.
- Our office in vibrant Friedrichshain , close to Boxhagener Platz and Warschauer Straße, offers not only a great location but also the flexibility of a hybrid work model: two days on-site, the rest working from home -- complemented by the option to work flexibly from anywhere (workation).
