B2B Contract Data Engineer -- Berlin (Hybrid)

We're hiring a hands-on Data Engineer for a 6-month initial B2B contract, based in Berlin.

Candidates must already be based in Berlin (hybrid working, bi-weekly office presence).

Interviews are taking place this week (2-stage process).

The Role

You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable, scalable data pipelines supporting analytics and downstream use cases. Expect a strong focus on transformation, orchestration, and CI/CD rather than experimentation or modelling.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data transformation layers using dbt
• Orchestrate pipelines using Airflow
• Work extensively with Snowflake as the core data warehouse
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability across pipelines
• Collaborate with analytics and business stakeholders to deliver usable datasets
• Contribute to best practices around testing, version control, and deployment

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
• dbt (production use, not just exposure)
• Airflow (DAGs, scheduling, monitoring)
• Snowflake
• CI/CD for data workloads (GitHub Actions highly desirable)
• Solid SQL and modern data engineering best practices
• Comfortable working autonomously in a contract environment
