As a Founding Engineer at Ulex, You Will:

• Architect the Foundation: Design and build both frontend and backend systems that will power our unified AI platform from day one, creating seamless user experiences across web and mobile interfaces.
• Drive Innovation: Propose and implement product features leveraging the latest advancements in LLMs and generative AI while making critical technical decisions that impact our long-term success.
• Build Full-Stack Solutions: Develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces while simultaneously building robust backend infrastructure for AI model integration, inference, and multi-LLM orchestration.
• Master Data Handling: Design systems to ingest, index, and process vast datasets while ensuring seamless integration with multiple LLMs and maintaining data security across the entire stack.
• Enhance Search and Retrieval: Build high-performance systems across large, heterogeneous databases and vectorstores for accurate and efficient querying at scale, with elegant frontend interfaces for user interaction.
• Establish Engineering Excellence: Define coding standards, development workflows, and best practices that will guide our engineering culture as we grow across both frontend and backend development.
• Deliver Excellence: Collaborate directly with founder, product, and design teams to transform ideas into impactful, user-focused features that span the entire application stack.
• Optimize the Experience: Improve the speed and quality of our platform's codebase to deliver a seamless user experience while building for future scale across all layers of the application.

Qualifications

We are looking for talented engineers with the following:

• Full Stack Expertise: Strong programming skills and experience with JavaScript, Next.js, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, GCP, K8s, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, and modern full-stack frameworks.
• Frontend Proficiency: Experience building responsive, performant user interfaces with modern frameworks, state management, and user experience optimization.
• LLM Proficiency: Proven experience working with LLM APIs, solving real-world prompting challenges, and integrating multiple AI models into user-facing applications.
• Infrastructure Mastery: Deep knowledge of building scalable backend systems, microservices architecture, and distributed computing.
• Data Expertise: Familiarity with distributed data processing, managing large-scale datasets, and vector database technologies.
• Cloud-Native Development: Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, with experience in infrastructure as code.
• Problem-Solving Skills: A demonstrated ability to design systems for scale, reliability, and performance in ambiguous environments across the full technology stack.
• Startup Mindset: Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and comfortable wearing multiple hats as technical needs evolve.
• Leadership Potential: Ability to mentor future team members and contribute to technical decision-making at the company level.
• Experience: 5+ years in software engineering, with significant focus on AI, full-stack development, and infrastructure, preferably with startup experience.
