Senior Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineer - Energy Software (m/f/d)
Full-time | Hybrid (Munich, Germany)
€120,000 bonuses
I'm currently partnering with a growing international software provider delivering advanced solutions to the global energy and utilities sector. Their platform helps organisations turn complex operational and asset data into actionable intelligence, supporting critical decision-making across large-scale infrastructure networks.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Senior Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineer to support commercial activities across Europe.
The Role
This is a high-impact, customer-facing pre-sales role, sitting at the intersection of technology, sales, and the energy sector.
You will work closely with sales teams to shape and win new business, engaging directly with DSOs, TSOs, and other utility customers. The role involves understanding complex customer challenges and positioning tailored software solutions that deliver both technical and commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Commercial Support
- Partner with sales to qualify opportunities and support deal strategy
- Lead technical conversations with prospective customers
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops
- Support RFP/RFI responses and technical bid processes
Solution Design & Positioning
- Translate customer requirements into tailored solution architectures
- Align solutions with customer systems, processes, and regulatory environments
- Contribute to proposal development, including scope, timelines, and effort
Customer Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to utility customers and partners
- Run discovery sessions to understand operational and technical challenges
- Support proof-of-concepts and pilot projects
Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with product, delivery, and engineering teams
- Provide market feedback to support product development and positioning
Your Background
- Experience in Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Consulting
- Strong exposure to enterprise software or SaaS, ideally within energy or utilities
- Experience engaging with DSOs, TSOs, or similar infrastructure customers
- Knowledge of areas such as:
- Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
- Asset Performance / Analytics
- Network modelling or outage management
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and business stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and experience supporting complex sales cycles
- Fluent German and English
