About the Professorship:

The Professur für Allgemeine Kulturwissenschaften (Prof. Dr. Eva Blome) is part of the Institut für Kulturwissenschaften at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. Research and teaching at the professorship focus on the reflection of the material, performative, and discursive dimensions of culture. Systematic focal points include Postcolonial Studies and Gender and Intersectionality Studies. A central research focus lies in the field of (culturally theoretically oriented) literary studies. Historically, the period from the 18th century to the present is covered. The teaching responsibilities of the professorship also include Digital Humanities.

Your Responsibilities:

• Undertake independent scientific research tasks and activities within the professorship's research projects and contribute to collaboration within the Institut für Kulturwissenschaften.
• Pursue your own research project with the goal of a habilitation oriented towards literary and/or cultural studies.
• Engage in university teaching by taking on teaching obligations, supervising and conducting exercises, seminars, and practical courses, as well as supporting Bachelor's and Master's theses.
• Perform administrative and organizational tasks at the professorship and faculty, particularly in quality assurance and the development of study content and regulations.
• Support the professorship in scientific exchange and networking, such as organizing lectures, workshops, and collaborations.

Qualification Requirements:

• A completed scientific university degree (Master's, Magister, or Diplom) in Cultural and/or Literary Studies with a "very good" grade.
• Special aptitude for scientific work, demonstrated by a doctorate in literary or cultural studies with a grade of at least "magna cum laude".
• A research and teaching profile with cultural and literary studies focus, evidenced by professional activity of typically at least two years.
• German language proficiency at a minimum C2 level and English language proficiency at a B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Reflection on global entanglement histories from a literary and cultural studies perspective in research and teaching.
• Knowledge in the field of Digital Humanities.
• French language proficiency at a B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
