Work Location: Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg, Lübeck, or remote throughout Germany – you decide where you work best.

What You Will Work On - Your Responsibilities:

Architecture & Modernization

  • Concept, development, and scaling of our core systems (C#/.NET, MS SQL) towards resilient, containerized services on Linux/Kubernetes.
  • Targeted reduction of internal technical complexity and strengthening of stability, resilience, and maintainability to increase long-term productivity.
  • Making well-founded architectural and platform decisions and further developing technical standards (modularization, interfaces, security, Infrastructure as Code).
  • Early integration of non-functional requirements such as observability, performance, scalability, security, and deployment in scoping.

Software Delivery

  • Technical support for Product Managers in discovery and prioritization processes, and clear explanation of complex technical contexts.
  • Expansion and optimization of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and establishment of Clean Code, code reviews, and automated tests (unit & system tests) with a clear Shift-Left mindset.
  • Increasing development speed (Time-to-Market) through measurably shorter development cycles, more frequent and reliable deployments – with the goal of being able to release productively at any time.
  • Sustainable quality improvement in software development, measured, among other things, by how rarely productive features need to be rolled back or improved.
  • Establishment of AI/LLM-supported development in everyday engineering (e.g., Copilot-assisted coding, test generation, knowledge building) to create real added value in the team.

Documentation & Knowledge Building

  • Active knowledge building instead of siloed knowledge: Taking responsibility for ensuring that knowledge is accessible team-wide and not tied to individuals.
  • Building structured, understandable, and up-to-date process and system documentation that makes relevant architectures, decisions, and processes transparent.
  • Development and establishment of practical best practice guides, technical standards, and guidelines with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Enablement & Leadership

  • Disciplinary leadership and coaching of developers in the areas of architecture, clean code, systems thinking, and container and deployment responsibility.
  • Empowering the team to make independent decisions within clear guardrails; in case of doubt, you make the decision.
  • Fast and effective onboarding of new team members through clear structures, good documentation, and systematic knowledge transfer.
  • Promoting continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and constructive communication. We lead with empathy.
  • Strengthening ownership for stability and production operations.

What You Bring - Your Profile:

Innovation & Technological Foresight

  • Experience in integrating new technologies and digital solutions to strengthen processes and competitiveness.
  • Sound understanding of the application possibilities and limitations of AI in a corporate context.
  • Experience in AI/LLM-supported development and ideally in integrating AI-based features.

Sound Development Expertise

  • Several years of experience in C#/.NET or comparable programming languages, as well as in the technical leadership of developers.
  • Confident handling of scalable database systems (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and modern backend architectures (modular services).
  • Ideally, experience with Angular (v15+) and RabbitMQ.
  • Basic openness to new technologies.

Architecture, Platform & Infrastructure as Code

  • Practical experience with Docker/Kubernetes, fully automated deployments, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Sound knowledge in cutting, scaling, and orchestrating services.

Delivery Excellence & Quality Orientation

  • Routine in handling Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated tests (unit & system tests).
  • High quality standards without a quick-fix mentality – with pragmatism and a holistic product understanding.

Product & Business Understanding

  • Product-oriented approach and ability to translate discovery results into clear, structured technical solutions.
  • Communicating complex technical issues in an audience-appropriate manner – including to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize requirements structurally and comprehensibly based on (business) impact and effort.

Leadership Skills & Language

  • Open, clear, and inspiring leadership – especially during change phases.
  • English at least C1 (team), German at least B2 (stakeholders).
