Director of Procurement (Comparator Sourcing)

Location: Remote (Germany based)

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Director of Procurement to lead comparator sourcing for clinical trials. This is a "player-coach" role: you will set the global strategy while actively identifying new suppliers and directly sourcing commercial medicines, rescue meds, and co-medications.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Sourcing: Manage the end-to-end procurement of complex drug requirements, negotiating directly with manufacturers and wholesalers.
• Network Building: Proactively "hunt" for new global supply channels and vet new suppliers to expand our reach and bypass market shortages.
• Operational Oversight: Manage the full RFQ-to-delivery lifecycle, ensuring 100% compliance with GDP and EU FMD standards.
• Stakeholder Lead: Act as the technical expert for clinical trial sponsors and collaborate with internal Logistics and Quality teams.

• Experience: Proven track record in pharmaceutical procurement, specifically within Comparator Sourcing.
• Hunter Mentality: A drive to find stock in tight markets and build new supplier relationships from scratch.
• Negotiation Skills: Ability to leverage market intel to secure high-volume supplies at competitive prices.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK/European pharmaceutical landscape (MHRA/BfArM).
