Your tasks

• Support and develop a specialized customer experience application focused on tracking and event-driven communication
• Design and implement complex integration architectures for aggregating data from multiple asynchronous and synchronous sources
• Develop backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot within an AWS cloud environment including Lambda and ECS
• Build and maintain web applications for internal reviewers and dealers using React and TypeScript
• Implement event-driven systems utilizing Kafka for robust communication between services
• Apply clean architecture principles and architectural patterns to ensure scalable and maintainable codebases
• Execute consumer-driven contract testing and ensure high engineering quality through TDD and the testing pyramid
• Lead technical discussions, facilitate alignment across multiple teams, and document architectural decisions
• Drive knowledge sharing and mentor team members through pairing, rotation, and code reviews
• Proactively shape team processes and engineering practices to raise the overall technical bar
• Migrate integrations to new upstream systems while maintaining uninterrupted functionality

Must have competences

• Senior-level expertise with the ability to lead architectural discussions and drive technical decisions
• Extensive professional experience in Backend development with Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Strong proficiency in building event-driven systems and asynchronous integrations using Kafka
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services, specifically Lambda, SQS, and ECS/Fargate
• Strong skills in Frontend development with React and TypeScript
• Experience with Node.js for supporting and developing web applications
• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CDK
• In-depth understanding of clean architecture, modularity, and API design
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and containerization with Docker
• Strong engineering quality mindset, including experience with TDD and the Testing Pyramid
• Ability to lead technical discussions, facilitate alignment, and mentor team members in an agile environment
• Professional fluency in English
• Ability to visit the client site in Ludwigsburg once per quarter

Nice to have competences

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB
• Experience with consumer-driven contract testing (e.g., Pact)
• Familiarity with observability and operations, including distributed tracing, metrics/alerting, and incident response
• Experience with collaborative programming techniques such as pair programming and mob programming
• Previous experience migrating integrations to new upstream systems
• German language skills

Additional information

The position is 100% remote with a mandatory onsite presence in Ludwigsburg once per quarter. Collaboration with nearshore partners is part of the project model.
