We are looking for a Tech Editor (m/f/d) to join our Apps & Gadgets team as soon as possible, ideally with initial practical experience for a junior or editor position.
Your Responsibilities
- Researching, writing, and editing articles such as opinions, previews, guides, and hands-ons for GameStar Tech, primarily based on authentic and personal experience.
- Reporting on new features of Google Maps, WhatsApp, etc., analyzing viral gadget trends, and presenting recommendable apps and gadgets.
- Being open to appearing in podcasts, videos, and live events, and working multimodally in addition to writing articles.
- Communicating with key manufacturers and PR contacts in the tech industry.
What We Appreciate
- As an Editor: You already have several years of professional experience in a high-reach online editorial team, a journalistic mindset, and a stylish, target-group-oriented, and professional language.
- As a Junior Editor: Ideally, you have already gained initial practical journalistic experience in the media sector – whether on a fan page, a blog, or professionally.
- You have a high school diploma (Abitur), a completed apprenticeship, or a university degree.
- You are enthusiastic about exciting apps, app updates, gadgets, and tech lifestyle, and are among the first to be informed about new developments – whether via Reddit, TikTok, App Store charts, or YouTube.
- You prefer to try out gadgets yourself and install new apps, rather than just relying on others.
- You have excellent German language skills and very good English skills.
- You are open to new things, enjoy learning, and regularly think outside the box.
- Knowledge of SEO, storytelling, image and video editing, or product photography is a plus, but not a requirement.
