We develop image analysis tools that help scientists work with peta-scale microscopy images. Our WEBKNOSSOS platform is a leading tool for sharing and collaborating on image data of that scale.

Ihre Aufgaben

It is built on the open-source Zarr file format for high-performance, cloud-ready access to peta-scale datasets of n-dimensional data. We are strong believer in the open-source community and are an active driver in the development of Zarr file format. As part of the steering council, we help shape new features and ideas and actively drive the development of several open-source Zarr implementations and integration in Java and Python eco systems. At scalable minds, you will build and maintain Zarr libraries and integrate them with popular tools that help scientists make breakthrough discoveries with their massive image datasets. while honing your robust software engineering skills. What You Will Do

  • Expand and develop new features for the open-source Zarr libraries in the Java and Python ecosystem
  • Design, own and develop highly scalable services for working with petabyte-sized image datasets
  • Help shape the roadmap for the next generation of large-scale open source file formats together with the core-maintainers and steering council
  • Integrate the Zarr libraries in popular open-source tooling for researchers, e.g. Fiji, Napari
  • Work with a high degree of freedom and self-organisation in a tech-savvy team
  • Build tools for an international tech community from neurosciences to geology

Ihr Profil

  • You know Java and Python or are willing to learn it
  • You take pride in teaching your teammates and learning from them, and you value constructive feedback in a respectful environment.
  • You have proficiency with Git, GitHub, and agile software development
  • You know how to clearly structure solutions in code
  • You have strong oral and written language skills in German and English
  • You bring applicable knowledge of handling large-scale datasets (tera bytes - peta bytes)
  • Experience with AI agents is a bonus

Our machine-learning applications and web-based data annotation tools help scientists push their cutting-edge neuroscience research and focus on the Biology rather then on the tech.WEBKNOSSOS is an open-source web-platform for viewing, annotation, and sharing peta-scale 3D microscopy datasets for biomedical research. Our team primarily consists of software engineers and hard, techy problems inspire our work. As a small team, everybody is included in the decision making and can build on the support of their peers. We encourage an open, relaxed work environment both at the office or when working remotely.We have a very close relationship with our costumers and regularly engage with them to improve our products.
