Translation Reviewer - German (Germany)

Project Overview

We are seeking German Translation Reviewers responsible for ensuring the linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical precision of translated content. The primary goal is to perform quality checks and linguistic validation on datasets to ensure they meet high-quality standards for localized model performance.

What You Will Do

• Linguistic Validation: Perform comprehensive linguistic quality checks to ensure translations are grammatically correct and contextually accurate.

• Error Categorization: Identify and categorize linguistic errors according to specific safety and quality guidelines.

• Feedback Loop: Provide clear and concise explanations for required changes to help improve the performance of translation models or initial translators.

Requirements

• Cultural Familiarity: Strong, demonstrable familiarity with the cultural nuances, social norms, with a focus on translation and regional nuances of the language.

• Required Fluency: Native or professional in English (C1/C2 level), Native or Professional in German.

• Project-Specific Insight: Strong cultural insight and understanding of linguistic nuances in the target market.

• Cognitive Abilities: High attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.

• Technical/Tool Proficiency:

  • Translation Software: Familiarity with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools or specific internal annotation platforms.
  • Search Skills: Strong web search skills to verify localized terminology and cultural references.
  • Writing/Communication: Writing excellence in the target language and the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.

• Experience (Plus): Prior professional experience in translation, data annotation, or content localization is highly beneficial.

Project Details

• Contract Type: Freelance
• Location: Germany (remote)
• Duration: 1 to 2 weeks
• Schedule: 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, OR 2 hours Monday to Friday plus 10 hours over the weekend
