About the Opportunity
We're looking for a hands-on IT Security Engineer to join a specialist security and infrastructure team supporting mission-critical environments. This role focuses on operational security, SIEM monitoring, vulnerability management, patching, backup operations, and infrastructure support. You'll work closely with senior engineers while taking ownership of day-to-day security and infrastructure activities. This is an operational role, not a strategy or consulting position.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor and investigate security alerts and events
- Perform SIEM alert triage and support incident investigations
- Support vulnerability management and remediation activities
- Administer Windows Server and Active Directory environments
- Manage patch deployment and validation processes
- Support endpoint security platforms and security tooling
- Operate enterprise backup solutions and perform restore testing
- Maintain documentation and support audit activities
- Assist with system hardening and security improvement initiatives
- Automate repetitive tasks through scripting and tooling
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5 years of experience in IT Operations, Systems Administration, Security Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Wazuh, Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, or similar
- Experience with vulnerability management and remediation activities
- Windows Server and Active Directory administration experience
- Experience with Group Policies and WSUS
- VMware vSphere experience
- Enterprise backup experience (Veeam preferred)
- PowerShell scripting experience
- German C1 (written and spoken)
- Good English communication skills
