Job Description

Time-outs are important. With us, you have 30 days of vacation and are also free on Christmas and New Year's Eve. Additionally, depending on the region, there is also a traditional holiday on top.

Work-Life Balance: Your work-life balance is important to us. With 38.5 hours per week (full-time), you have no core working hours. You choose when you want to work within our flextime framework. Through our annual working time account, you can also shorten or even take off individual working days in consultation with your team if you happen to work longer than the standard working hours.

Your Development: We want to develop together with you. Our internal career counseling helps you to go your individual way. You have the opportunity to participate in countless further and advanced training opportunities, both online and in our own HR Academy in Grevenbroich. Additionally, we also support various Bachelor's and Master's degree programs.

Your Workplace and Home Office: You will feel comfortable in our modern locations in NRW. In addition to creative areas and coffee points, many of our locations also have an employee restaurant. If you prefer to work from home, you have the option to support your team from your home office for up to 50% of your working time. We naturally subsidize your purchases for your home office workplace.

Provision: We think about your future. That's why we offer you a company pension plan, in the form of AOK pension or Metall pension, as well as capital-forming benefits.

Your Health: As an employer, AOK Rheinland / Hamburg - The Health Insurance Fund, your health is naturally our top priority. In addition to an annual subsidy of €175 for the gym or sports club, we also support the purchase costs for prescription glasses. Furthermore, you can participate in countless company health offers, such as flu vaccinations or vitamin D measurements. Or become part of our company sports club and meet other colleagues for extraordinary sports activities.

Working with Purpose: A job that is about people's health is not just any job. With us, you work as part of the solidarity community and shape the healthcare industry of tomorrow.

Even More Benefits: As part of our team, in addition to all our training and health offers, countless benefits await you, such as employee discounts with many partner companies through our corporate benefits platform.

Your Tasks

  • Independent review of hospital cases applying legal provisions and medical fundamentals (e.g., ICD-10 and OPS classification, German Coding Guidelines, Diagnosis-Related Groups Ordinance, etc.)
  • Clarification of contentious cases through direct negotiation with the hospital
  • Identification of medically problematic case constellations
  • Commissioning of the Medical Service

Your Profile

  • Training as a medical coding specialist/assistant (m/f/d) and corresponding professional experience in this field
  • A medical-nursing qualification with several years of professional experience in a hospital or training as a social insurance specialist (m/f/d) with experience in DRG coding
  • Knowledge of diseases and their outpatient and inpatient treatment approaches
  • Eloquence, commitment, and decisiveness
  • Good IT skills

We Offer You

With us, you will receive an attractive starting salary according to BAT/AOK-Neu with appropriate qualifications (at least €48,716.00 including vacation and Christmas pay), plus individual experience level based on professional experience. Additionally, we pay you social surcharges if you are married or have children. As an employer, we desire diversity! We welcome every gender and age, every nationality as well as ethnic and social origin, as well as religion and worldview, disability, as well as sexual orientation and identity.

Working at AOK means...

  • Flexible working hours
  • Diverse training opportunities
  • 30 days of vacation per year
