Our client, a leading IT service provider for the public sector, is looking for an experienced Senior IT System Administrator (m/f/d) Storage as soon as possible. As a Senior IT System Administrator (m/f/d) Storage, you will be responsible for storage provisioning in a modern, highly available, and innovation-driven data center environment within critical infrastructure! For over 25 years, the company has been developing customized IT solutions for more than 10,000 users and operates its own high-performance data center. The focus is on full-service solutions with a high standard of availability, security, and future viability. The position can be filled 100% remotely – with a modern, agile working environment that offers room for personal responsibility and co-creation.

• Salary: Up to €80,000
• Location: 100% Remote; (2-3 times per quarter in Hannover office)

Your Responsibilities:

• Operation and administration of the storage environment (ensuring smooth processes).
• Planning and execution of maintenance and updates.
• Active further development and optimization of the storage environment (verification of new technologies).
• Guaranteeing compliance with disaster recovery concepts and IT security requirements.
• Ensuring the highest possible availability and performance.
• Central point of contact for other data center teams.

Your Qualifications:

• Completed degree (Bachelor's) in Computer Science or comparable vocational training.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with storage environments (e.g., NetApp, Pure Storage, or similar).
• In-depth technical know-how for the administration and future-oriented development of the infrastructure.
• High curiosity and innovative spirit in the technology sector.
• Good German language skills (minimum C1 level).

Nice to have:

• Basic knowledge of scripting (PowerShell/Javascript), databases (MS SQL, PostgeSQL), and various operating systems (PureOS / Ontap / Windows / Linux), as well as initial ITIL experience.
